Kanhaiya Lal Polytechnic,Roorkee
Kanhaiya Lal Polytechnic,Roorkee was establish in 1956 with great efforts of Rai Sahab Kanhaiya Lal. In the beginning only diploma in civil engineering department was started. In 1963,it was upgraded in the name of Kanahiya Lal and electrical and mechanical engineering diploma was introduced along with civil engineering. Diploma. All those courses were of these years. In 1971, diploma in electronics was also added. In 1995 one and a half year post graduate diploma course in computer application was also started. At present, the total number of student is 555.The institute is hold by the managing committee of the State Governments running this institute. The president of this institute is retired Prof.Prem Krishna,Department Of Civil Engineering,I.I.T Roorkee.This institute is fully aided by the state government and has multistoried building and well established laboratories and a residential hostal and a huge library.
